Like the eponymous plant, "Wisteria" represents personal exploration, endurance, and the victory over hardships. It is a response to our collective experiences on a global scale, and the acknowledgement of our responsibility in the face of adversity. "Wisteria" was designed during a period when face masks suddenly became a necessity to leave the house with. It is meant to provide a personal perspective to how people have interacted with masks over the past year, as well as how it can complement one's attire.
Above all else, the most defining factor that went into the making of this collection is functionality, for obvious reasons. Variables ranging from material to fit served as a baseline, and dictated the design process. The use of both linen and poly-spandex for the bulk of the collection make for lightweight yet durable garments. Utterly opposite in composition, yet serving the same purpose. The fitted silhouette of the masks is choice for security and protection (as protective as fabric can be).
